The 18th Yasujiro Ozu Short Film Festival 2010

The International Yasujiro Ozu Short Film Festival formed and organized by the Cultural Association Fahrenheit 451 and, from this year, in collaboration with the Cultural Association Il Sassolino, has reached its eighteenth year and established itself as an important reality in the landscape of Italian and international short film-making.
This year’s festival will take place in October 2010 during the "October Fair” of Sassuolo.

Regulation:

1. Candidates should send their work in DVD-R format by September 4th, 2010 (posting date). No exceptions.

2. All participants must complete the application form, available on www.ozufilmfestival.it. Applicants must include their details in the SUBSCRIPTION FORM (telephone number, address, email). The completed application form must be signed and send together with the DVD –R by September 4th, 2010.

3. A copy of the application form must also be sent by email to the following address iscrizione@ozufilmfestival.it. Please indicate on the subject SUBMISSION OZU10.

4. If selected, the participants will be informed by the end of September 2010. The list of all selected films will be available on the Festival website www.ozufilmestival.it

5. The online registration will be considered valid only after all required material is received via regular mail service.

6. All participants must also enclose a CD-R or RW with:

a) A text document in .txt extension (or the equivalent for Machintosh) containing the author's personal information and a short synopsis of the work.

b) A photogram of the movie in .jpeg format in (at least) 300 dpi resolution of 12x12cm for side.

7. All material must be sent by regular mail (specifying "no commercial value" on the envelope) to the following address:

• The topic of the films is open.
• All films must not exceed 20 minutes of total duration (titles and credits included )
• All films must not have been presented to this committee of selection before.
• No musical videos (video clips) will be accepted.
• Advertising and industrial films will not be accepted.
• All films must have been produced after January 1st, 2009.
• Each canditate can only participate with one title. Participants who sent more than one title will be excluded.
• Non Italian speaking films have to be subtitled in Italian or in English.
• Participants will be informed in case of selection only.

1. Best Film
2. Jury special price
3. Best local short film
4. Best 2-Short (films that don't exceed 120 seconds)
5. Audience Award
   

By entering this contest, participants agree to abide to the present rules and regulation in all its parts.

The direction of the Festival reserves the right to bring minor changes to certain rules (dates and prizes).

All screenings of the films will take place at the San Francesco Cinema in Sassuolo, in October 2010.

DVDs will be kept in the archives of the Festival. Please note that the received material cannot be returned.

Participating to the festival authorizes its organizers to include the films in possible future retrospective screenings. The signed form authorizes the organizers of the festival to use the works for commemorative material or promotion on local TV channels. Parts of the films up to 60 seconds can also be published on the sites youtube.it and ilsassolino.it. The present rules and regulations also authorize the festival organizers to eventually include the films in DVD collections distributed locally.
